25 Lessons Learned in 2025

This isn’t a manifesto.
It’s not advice.
It’s a record.

These are the things that clarified—not all at once, not in order, and not without friction—but clearly enough that I want to mark them.

Consider this a studio artifact from 2025.

25 things I learned in 2025

  1. Wear sunscreen.

  2. I am a creative who uses systems—or maybe an artist of systems.

  3. I don’t need to swoop in and save everyone.

  4. Sensory needs are everything for me.

  5. Asking for help is not a failure of competence.

  6. Collaboration feeds me.

  7. I should follow my own advice more often.

  8. I actually love Bob’s Burgers.

  9. Showing up counts, even when it’s quiet.

  10. Finding my people changed everything.

  11. Use my notebooks.

  12. Slow down.

  13. Follow my gut.

  14. IRL > URL for some things.

  15. I don’t need more fountain pens.

  16. Thinking out loud matters for me.

  17. Orientation > optimization (for me)

  18. I have to be visible to be found.

  19. Both/and is real.

  20. Forcing is never the answer.

  21. I love a good field trip.

  22. Consistency means different things for different people.

  23. There is no gold medal for suffering.

  24. Acceptance is freedom.

  25. Think smaller.

In all honesty, 2025 was one of the hardest years of my life. My goal in documenting this here in the studio, is that it serves as something to return to so that I can take this year and all that it was and create something amazing from it.
